Zimmerman Custom Carpentry

The Raleigh area’s choice for premium, custom home projects.

Craftsmanship, integrity, and a passion for creating art with utility.

My passion for woodworking began at an early age and grew through years of experience in furniture making and cabinetry. I've always enjoyed creating things that bring together beauty, function, and lasting value.

After serving 12 years in the United States Marine Corps, I knew I wanted to return to working with my hands and building something meaningful for others.

I founded Zimmerman Custom Carpentry to bring quality craftsmanship and a personal approach to home improvement. I believe the experience should be just as rewarding as the finished product, which is why I prioritize clear communication, honesty, attention to detail, and showing up when I say I will.

My goal is simple: bring your vision to life and create something you'll be proud of for years to come.

“We couldn’t be happier with the work Kevin did for us. We came to him with a few inspiration photos and a general idea of what we wanted to accomplish, and he took that vision and worked through every detail with us to bring it to life."

“Kevin did a great job on my fence. The thing is built like a fortress. He used 6x6 posts for the corners and the gate, so it’s extremely sturdy. I asked him to use metal posts everywhere else, and he was able to work that into the design no problem. There’s a good chance this thing will outlive the house. Really happy with how it turned out and I’ll definitely be giving Kevin a call again when I have another project."

“Kevin did a great job replacing our door frame. He went above and beyond what we originally discussed and even repainted the frame on both the inside and outside to give everything a much cleaner, finished look. I really appreciated his attention to detail and taking the extra time to make sure everything looked right. Very happy with the work and would definitely recommend him!"

We recently had Kevin come out to our home to completely tear down and rebuild our front steps, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, he did a fantastic job. What impressed me most was the care and attention he put into the project. It wasn't just about getting the job done. He clearly takes pride in his craftsmanship and wants to make sure the finished product is something his customers will be happy with. The new steps look fantastic, and it's reassuring to know the job was done right. I'm really glad we chose Kevin and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Zimmerman Custom Carpentry to anyone looking for quality work on their home.
